Impulsa Alimentos is a new program of the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay (CIU) funded by AL-Invest 5.0. It seeks the development and strengthening of Uruguay's food industry, through increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises and enhancing their export capacities.
Its work methodology is based on a set of services that work as road maps for the entrepreneur, focusing on four main areas:
Its activities are aimed at all food enterprises that wish to incorporate value into their products, improve their production processes and develop internationalization capacities.
In order to strengthen local competitiveness and insert the sector into a demanding and diverse international market, Impulsa Alimentos generates information and updates on the food sector; offers workshops with experts, exchange spaces and synergies across the entire chain, both at a virtual and face-to-face level; provides training, diagnosis and specific technical assistance aimed at the incorporation of technology; and carries out commercial promotion activities abroad.
AL-Invest is one of the most important international cooperation program of the European Union in Latin America. Its objective is to promote the internationalization, and boost the productivity, of thousands of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Latin America.
In 2015, the European Union launched a new phase of this program, AL-Invest 5.0: inclusive growth for social cohesion in Latin America, which supports the development of productive, entrepreneurship and associative capacities of the MSMEs of Latin America and stimulates processes of integration, social inclusion and worthy employment opportunities, thus promoting the sustainable development of these enterprises.
